Module 07Week 7Reposition

Land with Confidence.

Walk in prepared. Negotiate from your values. Start strong.

Walk into interviews with stories instead of claims. Rehearse your STARR stories until they're boring to you - that reads as confident to them. Expect the AI question, and let your Module 4 build make the answer a story. Negotiate from your values and close this chapter deliberately.

Objectives
  • Your goal: interview with stories, negotiate from your values, close the chapter deliberately.
  • The second R - Reflection - is what separates a good answer from a senior one.
  • Expect the AI question. Your Module 4 prototype makes the answer a story.
You're done when
  • Five STARR stories exist, plus scripted answers to my hardest questions - including the AI question.
  • One full mock is done and reviewed; my two weakest stories are rebuilt.
  • My negotiation sheet is complete: range, leverage, non-salary asks, opening sentence.
  • My closing reflection is written.

Step by step

The lessons in this module

Work through each exercise in order. Every step has guidance, prompts, and a place to reflect — inside the hub or on paper.

  1. 1

    7.1 The Story Bank

    ~90 min

    Five STARR stories, written tight.

**Five STARR stories**: Situation · Task · Action · Result · **Reflection**. The **second R** is what you learned and how you've applied that insight since — **that's what reads as senior**.

  2. 2

    7.2 Hardest Questions + Mock

    ~60 min

Script the layoff / gap / pivot / AI answers, then run one mock.

**Script your hardest questions** — the layoff, the gap, 'why the pivot?', and **'how do you use AI in your work?'** Then **run one mock** (a friend, a peer, or recorded solo) and **rebuild your two weakest stories**.

  3. 3

    7.3 The Negotiation Sheet

    ~45 min

Range, leverage, non-salary asks, opening sentence - word for word.

**The strongest negotiation happens before the offer.** Get your **range with sources**, your **leverage list**, your **ranked non-salary asks**, and your **opening sentence ready word-for-word**. Finish with a **closing reflection** on what you're walking away with — and how you'll run the Confidence Cycle on the next hard thing.

Reflect before moving on
  • Perform one story out loud as if to a panel: where did it sag? Rebuild that beat.
  • Reread your closing reflection: what would you tell the person who started Module 1?
